At the Australian College of Complementary Medicine (ACCM) we offer Certificate IV & Diploma courses in Kinesiology, Diploma of Sports Kinesiology and numerous introduction & short courses. Our Certificate IV and Diploma courses, studied full-time, are Government accredited and Austudy approved. Our Diploma Course is also fully approved by both the Australian Institute of Kinesiologists and the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. All the courses we run are complete vocational training programs in natural health. Our standard of training in Kinesiology is recognised world wide, and our graduates are sought after to practice and teach in multi-disci plinary clinics in Australia and overseas. Current research in health and energy medicine is incorporated into all of our courses providing what we believe to be the most contemporary and up-to-date kinesiology curriculum available. All of the course hours are ‘contact hours’ – which means they are all undertaken on the college grounds, regardless of whether you are studying full or part time. We believe that this contact time is imperative for our students to build up the level of confidence and competency needed to perform as qualified kinesiologists in the public arena. For such a physical modality, our emphasis on quality contact hours within the college provides invaluable experience for your journey towards clinic. With your kinesiology classes, around half your hours are ‘theory’ and the other half ‘practice’. This means you are fully supported with your learning and have ample opportunity to be tutored by and make contact with our experienced lecturers/assessors/supervisors. All students are given the opportunity to attend Practical Days and Nights held on campus, during which they can practice their techniques with fellow students and a supervisor at hand to answer all questions and provide demonstrations. By practicing and using the skills gained in their training, students grow more confident when using them. The Australian College of Complementary Medicine provides all equipment and materials for student use on college premises for the purposes of practice, including a variety of flower remedies, tuning forks, charts, practice tables, and a reference library.
