| Certificate IV in Kinesiology |
HLT42807 The Certificate IV in Kinesiology is a 1 year full-time course where students attend for approximately 20 hours per week, with scheduled classes running over 2 consecutive weekdays. The course can also be studied part-time over 18 months, with classes held on Saturdays and Sundays. The course focuses on both the theoretical and the practical side of Kinesiology, with most modules allocating almost equal time to lectures and student practice time. This means students are able to apply and cement the theory they learn under the guidance and supervision of a lecturer. Full time and part time study options are available for the Certificate IV. The Certificate IV course includes approximately 650 hours of training All students are given the opportunity to attend Practical Days and Nights held on campus, during which they can practice their techniques with fellow students and a supervisor at hand to answer all questions and provide demonstrations. By practicing and using the skills gained in the last module, students grow more confident when using them. The Australian College of Complementary Medicine provides all equipment and materials for student use on College premises for the purposes of practice, including a variety of flower remedies, tuning forks, charts, practice tables, and a reference library. Exams are held throughout the year, testing students knowledge on an ongoing basis – theoretical and practical content are both encompassed. Students must undertake 4 clinical practical examinations, which involve one hour sessions with a client assessed by an examiner. All exams must be attended on the scheduled day. Full-time course structureThe College realises that many people who wish to return to adult education need to also remain in the workforce. So, we structure both our full time and part time courses so that this is not only possible, but easily manageable. Our full-time program is delivered over two set days each week. This format gives the student the option of organising their work days around study days, and also means there’s time each week to review material and practice what you’ve learned before returning to College. There are also 5 practical evening sessions that need to be attended each semester. There are 20 Study hours per week in the Full-Time Certificate IV in Kinesiology. Part-time course structureOur part-time students, like our full-time students, study for two consecutive days. However, they attend classes on a Saturday and Sunday approximately every second weekend. Most part time students who also work full time find this system very workable, as they still get time to practice what they’ve learnt. But don’t just take our word for it - here’s what the experts says about studying this way; This model of learning is now adopted by many forward thinking institutes and businesses. Our experience shows this module structure has proven advantages:
The time between classes enables you to review material, review your study and reading materials, practice and consolidate techniques, and apply the knowledge and experiences in everyday life. The Australian College of Complementary Medicine provides all equipment and materials for student use on college premises for the purposes of practice, including a variety of flower remedies, tuning forks, charts, practice tables, and a reference library.
